Travel and exploration have always been a part of Ron's working life. 16 years in footwear design and marketing took him to all but 4 states in the U.S. and to several foreign countries in Europe and the Orient and several visits to Mexico.

Then came 10 years traveling the arts and crafts circuit throughout Michigan, creating and marketing twig and rustic furniture. From the discoveries found traveling from town to town came the idea for Michigan Back Roads.

Ron is a working author with five books in print about travel on the back roads of Michigan. A sixth book is due for publication in the autumn of 2019. www.michiganbackroads.com and his other getaway web sites were visited more than 179,000 times in 2018. Most of these destinations are not famous places. Inside you will discover the biggest wood fired kiln in North America, the largest stretch canvas painting in the country and a water trail with an abandoned lighthouse at one end and a shipwreck at the other end.
