What began as a paranormal dream soon faded into the reality of a Vegas entertainer. I guess you could say I was blinded by the bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip.
My first job in Vegas was at local casinos where I was exposed to an 80’s band. They were fun and invited me to come see them at a bar called Carnaval Court at Harrah’s. The moment I stepped foot into that bar I was sold. I had to work on the strip. A chance visit to Chayo’s Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar made all that happen. I left my job at the cafe and began serving there. That’s where I met my original co-host Joey Mirabella. We both shared a passion for the paranormal and conspiracy theories. It was there “Reality Check” was born. The show was about paranormal stories, unsolved mysteries, and conspiracy theories.
One day I was working outside on the patio at Chayo when all of a sudden I heard this slowed rock and roll version of Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time” coming from next door. I ran in (on the clock still) to check out the rest of the song. The band approached me at work during their break and introduced themselves to me as Crown Avenue. They were amazing and still are. From that point on I was hooked on live music and was out and about any chance I got checking out bands like Crown Avenue, The Roxy Gunn Project, Easy 8s(now known as Chase and the Pursuit), and Alter Ego. I just couldn’t get enough.
Shortly after our show began tragedy struck in Joey’s family. He sadly lost his father just a couple weeks after we covered his favorite conspiracy theory: The Titanic Conspiracy. Joey left the show to take care of his family. In the meantime, I had found someone to take his place but they didn’t work out. It became clear to myself, my audience, and my producer that the paranormal was no longer my passion. So following a show one night, Tina Marie suggested I change the show completely and make it all about Las Vegas Entertainment and my other favorite topic Celebrity Gossip. After all, I had already had Jeff Timmons from 98° on the show and I had made some friends in the entertainment industry because I was out and about so much.
We relaunched the show July 11, 2018 and overnight my entire world opened up. All of a sudden we had celebrity guests on the show like Nicholas Brendan from Buffy, Nick Hawk from Gigolos, and Sam Wills aka TapeFace just to name a few. Next thing I know I had red carpet invites, hosting gigs with The Funk Jam, Dollface, and Extreme Live. I even get to perform in my spare time with Extreme Live and I still can’t believe they allow me to do that. Since all of this began I’ve met the most incredible and talented people who have supported me and my dreams come true. I love you all. Best decision I ever made.
